About Orchid Pediatrics, Inc.
Meet integrative pediatrician, Joy Eberhardt
Meet Behavioral & Developmental Pediatrician Joy Eberhardt, MD, FAAP
Hi! I’m Dr. Joy Eberhardt De Master, but I go by Dr. Joy, aka The PDA Doc.
I’m a board-certified pediatrician (FAAP) on a mission to help kids thrive and parents feel seen.
After a few years in primary care, I found myself frustrated by the band-aid focus of health and how parents were dismissed.
So I followed my calling in integrative pediatrics to support kiddos with developmental and behavioral concerns in a way that takes a root-cause, whole-child, parent-led approach.
I’m a parent myself of neurodiverse kids so I “get it.”
I’m also neurodivergent, fluent in Spanish, and proud to be bicultural.
So creating a warm, welcoming space where all families feel included, supported, and empowered is important to us at Orchid Pediatrics.
Albert Camus once said, “Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow. Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Just walk beside me.” This reflects my approach—walking alongside you and your family on your journey.
I invite you to book a free consultation call.
Meet Operations Director Caitlin
Hi! I’m Caitlin, Orchid Pediatrics’ Wellness Director—holistic‑care architect, family advocate, and proud champion of kids who do life their own brilliant way.
I’m also the friendly voice behind our Discovery Calls, so there’s a good chance I’ll be the first hello cheering you on as your Orchid Pediatrics journey begins.
For more than a dozen years I’ve lived and breathed pediatrics, guiding families of neurodivergent and medically fragile children through the maze of care plans, therapies, and “what‑ifs.” My roots in case management taught me that behind every chart there’s a child with dreams, quirks, and a universe of potential—and a family that deserves to feel heard every step of the way.
As Wellness Director, I design and coordinate the programs that turn Dr. Joy’s whole‑child, parent‑led vision into day‑to‑day reality. From creating resource toolkits to ensuring seamless collaboration among our multidisciplinary team, I weave the clinical, emotional, and practical threads of care into one empowering tapestry—so every child’s wellness journey feels clear, connected, and hopeful.
Outside the clinic you’ll find me hunting Portland’s next unforgettable bite, sneaking away for long‑weekend adventures, or soaking up couch time with my two rescue pups and the people I love. I believe balance and joy belong in both life and healthcare—because flourishing kids need thriving grown‑ups, too.
I’m honored to walk beside your family, making sure the path is clear so your child’s brilliance can shine.
Meet Maye, Patient Care Expert
Hi! I’m Maye, Orchid Pediatrics’ Patient Care Expert—registered nurse, workflow whisperer, and wholehearted champion of kids and the grown‑ups who love them.
My nursing journey began in the lively halls of a K–12 school, where I discovered that student wellness goes hand‑in‑hand with curiosity, confidence, and joy. From there, I moved into Clinical Utilization Management, sharpening my eye for the “why” behind every medical decision and making sure care plans truly serve each child—not just a set of guidelines.
Today, as Dr. Joy’s virtual right hand, I weave those experiences together to create smooth, family‑friendly systems so our team can focus on what matters most: helping children thrive.
I’m also an aunt to an awesome autistic nephew and sibling to a rock‑star special‑education teacher, so neurodiversity isn’t just a buzzword—it’s family. That personal lens reminds me daily that compassionate, individualized care can change a child’s world.
At Orchid Pediatrics we believe in walking beside families—never in front or behind. I’m honored to walk that path with you, streamlining the details so you and Dr. Joy can stay centered on breakthroughs, not busywork.
I can’t wait to connect and help make your family’s healthcare journey a little lighter and a lot more empowering!
Meet Nicole Gleason, NBC-HWC | FMCHC | CFNC
Functional Medicine Health & Wellness Coach
Nicole believes that food is one of childhood’s most powerful medicines—and that every family deserves a practical, delicious path to using it. A National Board–Certified Health & Wellness Coach, she earned her Functional Medicine Coaching credential in 2020 and deepened her training with the Functional Nutrition Alliance.
Nicole’s passion is personal: as the mom of a son thriving with vitiligo and Type 1 Diabetes, she has spent years turning research into real-world meals that support immune health and make life easier for busy parents. Her gift is sitting beside families in the messy middle—listening, encouraging, and designing step-by-step plans that feel doable, not daunting.
At Orchid Pediatrics, Nicole:
- Translates lab insights and Dr. Joy’s recommendations into family-friendly recipes, kitchen hacks, and grocery lists
- Coaches parents and kids toward sustainable nutrition, sleep, movement, and stress-care habits
- Leads hands-on cooking experiences (yes, even for selective eaters!) that spark confidence and joy around food
Outside the clinic, Nicole co-founded a farm-to-table Cooking Club at her local elementary school, serves on the board of Camp HiLo for children with Type 1 Diabetes, and has helped reshape school-district wellness policies to favor healthier celebrations.
You’ll often find her in the garden, geeking out over a perfectly ripe Ataulfo mango, or paging through the latest Cook’s Illustrated. Her top VIA strengths—Spirituality, Love, Gratitude, Honesty, and Perseverance—shine through in every coaching session and every bite she shares.
Nourishing kids nourishes the whole family. I’m honored to walk beside you in that journey.
Meet Ashley Koff, RD, Integrative Registered Dietitian & Nutrition Gap Whisperer
Ashley’s motto is simple: better, not perfect. A globally recognized dietitian with more than two decades of clinical, media, and industry experience, she specializes in turning complex nutrition science into everyday wins for busy families.
At Orchid Pediatrics, Ashley:
- Spots and solves nutrient gaps using functional testing and food-first strategies
- Crafts realistic meal and snack plans that respect each child’s preferences, culture, and schedule
- Equips parents with label-reading shortcuts and grocery-store game plans
- Collaborates closely with Dr. Joy to align supplements, lifestyle tweaks, and follow-up metrics for measurable results
Ashley founded The Better Nutrition Program in 2017 to provide evidence-based tools that help practitioners personalize care—resources she now shares directly with Orchid families. Her work has been featured on The Dr. Oz Show, Good Morning America, and in Parents magazine, but her happiest moments are still spent in the kitchen teaching kids (and their grown-ups) how to build plates that power play, growth, and calm.
When she isn’t coaching or speaking, you’ll catch Ashley scouting farmers’ markets for heirloom veggies, perfecting her tahini-cocoa smoothie, or cheering on her rescue pup during trail runs. Her VIA strengths—Curiosity, Creativity, Kindness, Humor, and Zest—shine through in every consult and every bite she helps shape.
Better choices stack up fast. Let’s build yours, one delicious step at a time.
